Today we're announcing Industry Øne, a program with the United States Air Force DTO: DAF Digital Transformation Office that connects live engineering data across the Defense Industrial Base without centralizing it. The problem: thousands of suppliers operate incompatible tools behind separate firewalls. Personnel can email information across IT boundaries but can't automate workflows securely, compliantly, and auditably while protecting IP. Industry Øne changes this. Fifteen organizations. No shared repository. No surrendered IP. Faster doesn't have to be the enemy of safer. From our team at DICE 2026.
Last week I wrote about the question every engineer at DICE 2026 was wrestling with: how do you trust AI when wrong answers don't get rolled back? Here's what we've found: Teams using Istari Digital delivered results 50%+ faster than traditional approaches. Not because the AI was smarter. Because every iteration was tested against real requirements, every result was traced, and every decision had a chain of custody. Faster isn't the enemy of rigorous. With the right foundation, faster is rigorous. Let's go vibe code an airplane. Securely.

What if the constraint isn’t the system but how we think about it? In The Matrix, “there is no spoon” wasn’t about bending reality, it was about understanding it differently. Will Roper made a similar point about #governmentacquisition: many of the limits we accept - slow timelines, rigid certification, fragmented systems - haven't been fixed. Until now. Software moved past this years ago with continuous integration, delivery, and code as the source of truth. A software-focused approach to acquisition brings that same model to hardware…where requirements, testing, and certification run continuously as code. At Istari Digital, we’re building the infrastructure to make that possible. Dr. Roper sat down with Billy Hurley at Morning Brew to discuss what's coming next… ⬇️ Link below to read!
(new) 'There is No Spoon' is still mentioned to me all the time. It was fun to write. It was fun discussing it with Morning Brew. It's been fun -- not to just write the final installment -- but to build it. Release countdown begun. In case you missed it, MIT AeroAstro released its 2026 Strategic Plan, informed by broad input across industry, government, and startups. The signal is clear: AI-enabled digital engineering is now a top priority across aerospace - along with training a new generation of AI-native aerospace engineers who can apply these tools in real-world, safety-critical contexts. This reflects a broader shift: AI isn’t an add-on, it’s becoming core to how aerospace systems are designed and delivered - with certifiability and safety constraints front and center. We’re grateful to have contributed to this effort. It’s encouraging to see this direction independently validated. At Istari Digital, we’re building the infrastructure that enables certifiable, safety-critical AI across design and operations - and supporting the next generation of engineers putting it into practice. https://lnkd.in/eshifSa6

🚀 ICYMI: The United States Air Force DTO: DAF Digital Transformation Office recently awarded an $8.6M contract to Istari Digital to launch Industry Øne, an initiative designed to break down digital engineering barriers and accelerate transformation across the Defense Industrial Base. Today, government agencies and thousands of contractors operate across disconnected tools, siloed data, and firewalled environments. Collaboration often means copying data, losing control, and introducing risk. Industry Øne will change that. By separating control from connection, Industry Øne enables secure, real-time collaboration without centralizing or copying data. Organizations maintain full ownership and data sovereignty, while engineers can work across systems, programs, and security boundaries through controlled, auditable interfaces. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gNvKb8Rs 🔜 Stay tuned to hear what members of the #DIB are working with Istari Digital on #IndustryØne... #USAF #DigitalTransformation #DefenseIndustrialBase #DIB #DefenseInnovation #Interoperability #DTO #AFRL

Mission engineering has a data problem. Not in volume but in reach. Insights get generated and then trapped inside disconnected tools and teams. They never get operationalized across the programs that need them. The Mission Engineering Automation Testbed (MEAT) is infrastructure designed to change that. Proud to see Istari Digital helping build it alongside partners like Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division through the initiative announced by NSTXL (National Security Technology Accelerator). #DigitalEngineering #MissionEngineering #DefenseTech
The Department of War (DoW) has awarded the Mission Engineering Automation Testbed (MEAT) to Istari Digital using The Strategic & Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems (S²MARTS) OTA in partnership with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. This effort will modernize how mission-level insights are generated, tested, and applied across the joint force. The MEAT effort seeks to move engineering beyond isolated tools by establishing a secure, scalable testbed capable of supporting joint and enterprise-wide use. Less than half of aerospace engineering time goes to actual design work. The rest is spent reconciling data, synchronizing tools, and coordinating across teams, overhead that can consume the majority of engineering capacity on complex programs. Software engineering solved distributed system development decades ago through version control, automated testing, and CI/CD. Those same principles can transform hardware development. In a recent live session with SysGit and nTop, we designed a high-fidelity Group 3 UAV — from SysML v2 requirements through validated geometry — using automated GitLab pipelines. • Requirements captured as executable, machine-readable models • Parametric geometry generated directly from those requirements • Every design change automatically validated in minutes No manual checking. No late-stage requirement surprises. Hundreds of design variants instead of a handful. The impact isn’t just faster design cycles, it’s earlier integration risk detection and a fundamentally stronger program risk profile. If your teams are evaluating digital thread modernization or SysML v2 adoption, the full recording is available below. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/eSEYiy8W #DigitalEngineering #MBSE #SysMLv2 #Aerospace #DefenseTech

Engineering teams developing complex aerospace systems spend less than half their time on actual design work. The rest? Manual data wrangling and synchronization across companies, disciplines, and tools—consuming up to 90% of capacity. The cost of this inefficiency is staggering: we may see our first $1 trillion aircraft program in the not too distant future. What if hardware development could achieve similar speed and reliability that software engineering has with distributed, scalable development through automated testing and continuous integration? February 26, 2026 | 11am EST Join Christopher Benson (CTO & Co-Founder, Istari Digital), Steve Massey (CEO, SysGit), Bradley Rothenberg (CEO, nTop), and Steve Lauver (VP of Customer Success, Istari Digital) for a live demonstration designing a high-fidelity Group 3 UAV using a code-first approach. You'll see how: • Machine-readable SysML v2 requirements enable automated validation throughout the design process—catching requirement violations early instead of during late-stage reviews • Parametric computational workflows generate and evaluate hundreds to thousands of design variants at scale, where traditional CAD-centric approaches manage only a handful • CI/CD pipelines borrowed from software engineering validate every design change against requirements within minutes—catching integration issues when they're inexpensive to fix Register here: https://lnkd.in/eSEYiy8W
