What if preventing gender-based violence starts long before harm occurs, by looking closely at the subtle, everyday dynamics within our homes? Tackling violence at its root means looking at the familiar patterns of communication and power that often go unquestioned. True prevention begins by expanding the space for empathy, mutual respect, and shared decision-making long before harm can take root. Sabki Suno Saa ("Hear Everyone Out") is an effort to foster healthier, more equitable relationships across Rajasthan, India. Grounded in local culture, the initiative is creating space for communities to reflect on relationship dynamics and re-imagine healthier ways of relating to one another. Named after the respectful Rajasthani address "*Saa*" and inspired by the resilient Rohida flower, this co-created effort with local partners represents the essential work of long-term systems change. How do we build food and energy systems that are more resilient, equitable, and rooted in local realities as global dynamics continue to shift? At London Climate Action Week, the Consortium for Agroecological Transformations, Energiva Ventures, Global Alliance for the Future of Food, and Hands of Transition (an initiative by Purpose) hosted practitioners, philanthropic organizations, think tanks, and media to reflect on these deep-rooted crises and discuss a way forward. The conversation focused on three interconnected themes: 🌍 Global shifts: How changing geopolitical dynamics are reshaping food and energy systems. ⚖️ Policy and markets: The opportunities and barriers shaping the transition. 🌾 India's agricultural ecosystem: The people, narratives, and realities that influence pathways for change. One takeaway stood out: meaningful transitions require collaboration across sectors, grounded in local contexts and informed by diverse perspectives. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to Ruchi Tripathi, Minhaj Ameen, Ramanshu Ganguly, Vibhusha Gupta, Harpreet Bagga, and Gurpriya Singh for sharing their insights. We'll share two resources in the comments for those who'd like to explore these conversations further. #LondonClimateActionWeek #Agroecology #FoodSystems #EnergyTransition #ClimateAction #SystemsChange

Last night at Chatham House, we gathered a room of leaders from #climate, #technology, #governance and #media to ask a different kind of question. Not how we fix a broken information ecosystem, but what we build in its place. As part of London Climate Action Week, Verified for Climate and Chatham House co-convened a fireside chat and dinner, led by USG Melissa Fleming and Dr Simon Clark, on information integrity as the foundation an equitable climate transition depends on. A few of the threads that stayed with us: → The opposite of polarisation is not agreement. It's connection, and a stronger social contract. A healthy information ecosystem still holds friction, contested ideas and people who think very differently – with trust underneath it. → Shaping our ecosystem means building infrastructure: trusted messengers, cultural shift and multilateral coordination, resourced properly and coordinated globally. → Climate communicators and cultural voices are essential to a healthy information ecosystem, but also for showing us why it matters: because climate change is personal to every one of us. They help us confront anxiety, remind us of the joy of curiosity, and recognise that no culture thrives without a healthy planet. We closed by asking the room to inhabit the outcome: picture ordinary life in 2100, after several generations have grown up in a healthy information ecosystem. That's the world this work is for. Thank you to Chatham House for hosting, to the UN Department of Global Communications and the Global Initiative for Information Integrity on Climate Change, and to TikTok and the Minderoo Foundation for making this work possible. And to everyone who joined us in the room – the conversation continues. #LondonClimateActionWeek #LCAW #InformationIntegrity #ClimateAction #VerifiedForClimate Harpreet Bagga Isobel Bruce Nada Ezzat Sam Jackson

While the climate sector is galvanising on extreme heat, it is critical that these approaches are not siloed or short-term. This summer, the compounding impacts of the extreme heat, the West Asian crisis, and increased strain on incomes and energy use are breaking through the fragile support system of India’s informal sector. And yet, there are still gaps in the solutions and narratives at the intersections of these overlapping crises. Last month, we gathered a group of experts whose work and documentation of these intersections is critical to our next steps as a sector. Aishwarya Mohanty of The Migration Story: The key point is that while new crises are emerging, existing inequalities continue to shape outcomes, and it is important to consistently look at how these overlaps play out together.” Siji Chacko,PhD of Migrants Resilience Collaborative “Migrant workers are the most visible people in the country, but at the same time the most invisible in systems, especially when it comes to protection and access to benefits. Deepak Tewari, WRI India “India is now facing a dual challenge where rising temperatures are driving AC demand, and AC sales have doubled… current infrastructure cannot meet this without major investment in grid and distribution.” Ramanjaneyulu G V, of the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture “If crises are compounding over time, how do we address the fact that new challenges are not replacing old ones, but simply layering onto existing vulnerabilities? This is building into a compounding crisis.” Purpose’s approach to extreme heat has always been at the intersections of our work: addressing its impacts on our most vulnerable populations in the areas of gender-based violence, sustainable mobility, migrant-based labour, and farming practices. Read more about these intersections in our latest blog post written by Sonali Bhasin, and join us at London Climate Action Week to continue this conversation, and find ways to put these learnings into practice together. https://lnkd.in/dxMTi4PQ #LCAW2026 #ClimateJustice #CommunityPower #ClimateLeadership #GlobalMajority #ClimateAction #FoodSystems #NarrativeChange #LondonClimateWeek #LondonClimateActionWeek #Heat #HeatStress #InformalSector

What happens when #climate conversations are built closer to the communities living them? One of the most powerful takeaways from Mumbai Climate Week wasn't a new policy announcement or technology breakthrough. It was the reminder that meaningful climate action depends on who is in the room, and who gets to shape the agenda. For too long, many climate spaces have remained inaccessible to practitioners, organisers and community leaders across the Global Majority. Mumbai Climate Week offered a glimpse of something different: a space where local priorities, lived experience and community knowledge could take centre stage. As we head into London Climate Action Week, we're reflecting on the importance of creating climate spaces that are not only ambitious, but also inclusive, participatory and rooted in people's realities. This piece explores what Mumbai taught us about building a climate community that lasts, and why the future of climate leadership must be shaped by those closest to the challenges, and the solutions. Climate stories that land start with community, culture, and what people actually care about. That's the premise behind our London Climate Action Week workshop: How To Tell Better Climate Stories Online. We're bringing together comms professionals, journalists, scientists, and aspiring creators to work hands-on with Verified Champions – the creators who weave climate into cultural content and reach audiences traditional climate comms often miss. Two UK Champions are leading the session: 🧵 Lydia Bolton – sustainable fashion designer and upcycler, on how creativity and climate connect through making and mending. 👗 Beatrice Turner – ethical fashion educator who breaks down greenwashing and helps people make sense of sustainability claims. You'll see how creators find climate angles in everyday moments, practice spotting stories with Champion guidance, and develop a content idea from your own community – paired with a Champion. You can even film a rough first take on the spot. Verified Champions is a network run by Verified for Climate, a joint initiative of the United Nations Department of Global Communications and Purpose, funded by TikTok and Minderoo Foundation.
