Updates

  • No matter how you read or listen, there’s no shame in the game! The Everand team has been busy rolling out updates to give readers more control and a smoother overall experience. Here are a few of our favorites: 📚 An easier way to share what you’re reading! Post book covers straight from Everand to Instagram, TikTok, or wherever else you scroll. 🎧 More precise audio speed control that lets you fine-tune playback in 0.1x increments, from 0.5x to 5.5x. The choice is yours, and there’s no wrong one! 😴 A smarter sleep timer where you can set your wind-down time and add extra minutes with minimal effort. Gentle fade-outs built for seamless bedtime listening. Explore what’s new in the Everand app or at everand.com, and let us know what you think!

  • As a leader, it's an easy trap to get so laser focused on high level outcomes that we lose sight of the day-to-day or, even worse, of those that we lead. Scribd, Inc. CEO Tony Grimminck has a different approach. His unique path to leadership– from growing up in a small Australian town, serving in the military, then building a career in tech– shaped a philosophy that’s practical, direct, and deeply human. His core belief? Communicate the intent. Be clear on the purpose. Share the vision. Then get out of the way and trust your team to execute. In a new interview with Adam Mendler on Leadership Today, Tony breaks down how trust, curiosity, adaptability, and real human stories still matter, especially as companies navigate constant change. If you care about leading people (not just managing outcomes), this one’s worth your time. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/g7exGHMi

  • 📚 It’s a new year, and if you’re like us, you’ve set some ambitious reading goals for 2026. The hard part isn’t setting the goals… it’s sticking to them. Of course, it’s always easier to keep going with a little motivation from your friends, and we’ve got a dynamic duo here to help. Fable makes it a snap to set goals, track progress, get recommendations from like-minded readers, and extend that streak. You’ll never want to take a day off!   And Everand is where you can access that next great read! Whether you prefer Ebooks, Audiobooks, or a little of both, Everand has you covered. A year of reading, powered by the bestie pair of Fable and Everand? Now that’s another Romantasy we can get behind!

  • And just like that, 2025 is in the home stretch. We have so many things to be proud of, but a major highlight for Scribd, Inc. this year was being recognized in Fast Company's 7th annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list within the Flexible Workplace for Innovation category. The award itself is great, but more meaningful to us is what it symbolizes– the way we come together every day to work and collaborate, and how we've built a culture that celebrates and recognizes our employees. To everyone at Scribd, Inc.– thank you for everything you do to make this an incredible place to work. And to all of our friends in the industry, let's keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in creating flexible, innovative workspaces. We wish all of you a happy new year!

  • One of our favorite traditions at Scribd, Inc is our Virtual Holiday Extravaganza: a day full of celebrations (and no meetings!). 🔮 We gathered as a company for an energetic look back at the year, and peered into our crystal ball to make some bold predictions for 2026. 🧑🎨 Folks chose from a variety of seasonal crafts and activities. We rolled Brazilian brigadeiros, poured custom resin serving trays, and even tested our teamwork in virtual escape rooms (yes, we made it out). 🍪 We also brought back our annual cookie decorating contest. While our skills ranged from Van Gogh to “Oh No!”, the vibes were immaculate, even when the cookies weren’t. 🎉 And because Scribd is global, teammates in 9 cities capped things off with in-person holiday parties. A perfect close to a milestone year. Want to join this supportive, talented, and occasionally sugar-rushed team? • This week, Everand and Fable released the 2026 State of Reading Report. What did we learn? Personal recommendations are now the # 1 way that readers discover their next book, a reminder that even in a digital world, reading remains a deeply human experience. A few more highlights: 📈 Reading habits are on the rise, with nearly a quarter of a million people keeping a 30-day reading streak. 🎧Audiobooks are now the most popular digital reading format. 🧘Reading as self care continues to grow, with over 50% of readers citing stress relief as their reason for increased reading. 📚Book clubs are having a moment, both online and in-person. The future of reading is bright, social, and rooted in connection. And that feels like something worth turning the page for. • Want to learn how Fable built a community-powered brand? Hear from our VP of Brand Marketing & Communications, Gemma Craven, on a recent feature spotlighting our approach.

Fable has quietly become one of the internet’s most successful community-powered ecosystems with over 100,000 book clubs and a user base that's roughly 50% Gen Z, according to Sara Wilson in the latest Community Catalysts newsletter. Kim Marsh Allee talked to Sara about how Fable didn't try to replicate BookTok's virality, but built the infrastructure beneath it. Rather than chasing viral moments or trying to move existing book clubs to their platform, Fable empowered the BookTok creators already driving culture to start their own clubs. Each creator brought their micro-community, which generated more content, more visibility, and a self-sustaining flywheel. Proud to have one of the next generation of community-powered brands in our Scribd, Inc. lineup - one we can all learn from, that's showing what's possible when fandom evolves into a true market force. Check out the full interview in Sara's newsletter - one I thoroughly recommend adding to your reading list if it isn't already there. https://lnkd.in/gwpBJP35

  • How late is too late to post about Halloween? The limit does not exist. Halloween at Scribd, Inc. has always been a big deal– so big, in fact, that it’s grown into a full Halloweek!  This year’s fang-tastic celebrations brought our employees together in all the right ways. Our Caregivers ERG hosted Spooky Stories, with family-friendly tales, employee-authored fables, and puns so bad they’d make the risen dead want to lay back down again. We ran Halloween-candy brackets at our monthly Hub Day… Reese’s Cups took the crown! We also came together for a spooky craft session alongside our annual photo contest, letting people unleash their inner ghosts and goblins in whatever medium they preferred. And we closed out the week with a virtual plague tour of 18th-century Prague… because nothing says team bonding like a little tasteful historical doom. Sound like your idea of a ghoulishly great place to work? Check our open roles at: https://lnkd.in/gfmsvCU
