A massive thank you to Patrick Collison and John Collison for hosting me for their fireside chat to share the Speechify story at Stripe all-hands. What's always resonated with me about Patrick and John is how customer obsessed they've been since Day 1. There's the famous story of how during Y Combinator they would ask fellow founders to pull out their laptops and set up Stripe for payments right there on the spot. As they've grown to now thousands of teammates and millions of customers, that customer obsession remains. They're still hungry to know what can be improved. They invite customers to tell them what they need to work in front of the whole company. It's no surprise that in the AI era, they've remained the leader, helping support token-based business models that AI companies need to serve customers. Excited to share our SIMBA 3.0 text to speech model at Speechify make the top 10 in Artificial Analysis' leaderboard and, when it comes to finding the balance of quality, latency & cost – the holy trinity in voice AI models – beat out the models from ElevenLabs, Cartesia, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google & Amazon. Over the last four years, I've seen first hand just how non-linear the progress in voice AI research can be. We've had hundreds of failed experiments and months of a plateau before reaching a break through. It's a grind. Given our consumer voice agent DNA, we've always focused on balancing quality, cost, and latency all at once. This is the exact combo that allows us to provide the most cost efficient model on the market to now power voice agent use cases across diverse businesses in healthcare, services, insurance, etc. at a fraction of the cost of other players. The timing of SIMBA 3.0 also overlaps nicely with agentic workflows now being able to give a "brain" to the voice. Super excited to share that Speechify's newest text to speech AI voice model, SIMBA 3.0, has been named to the top 10 leaderboard by Artificial Analysis. And we're able to generate this result with the MOST affordable cost per 1M characters. With text to speech models, the holy trinity is (1) quality, (2) latency, and (3) cost. Voice agents are killing the phone chore. Fighting with your insurance company. Scheduling a doctor's appointment. Getting a refund from your cancelled gym.
