We were honored to welcome Senator María Elena Durazo to The Wilcox, one of the supportive housing communities The People Concern operates within her district. During the visit, Senator Durazo spent time speaking with residents and staff and learning more about the services and housing support provided on-site. As homelessness continues to impact communities across California, sustained investment in programs like HHAP remains critical. We appreciate Senator Durazo and the California State Senate’s prioritization of HHAP funding in the FY 2026–27 budget and their continued engagement with providers working directly in the field. Addressing homelessness requires long-term partnership, coordination, and a shared commitment to ensuring people have access to stable housing and supportive services.

LA County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency approved more than $100 million in funding that will go towards projects that either build or preserve more than 500 affordable homes across the region. The money, which comes from sales tax revenue approved by Los Angeles County voters through Measure A, will go toward 10 different projects, including Fountain Apartments. TPC Homes has planned the construction of Fountain Apartments to be a five story apartment complex that will provide 37 units of permanent supportive housing. Check the link below to learn more about the projects that will benefit from this funding. https://lnkd.in/gKdJAsm9

Over the last fiscal year, our Outreach Workers served over 4,200 people experiencing homelessness. That's over 4,200 people who have now taken the crucial first steps to connect with our different supportive services. It's thanks to our outreach teams' abilities to engage our unhoused neighbors that allows us to connect them to life-saving programs and support them in their journey to permanent housing.

"St. Vincent is our second Homekey+ project to date and fifth in the Homekey program across rounds, with hopefully more to come.” -Steve Sawiki, Executive Director at TPC Homes Through Homekey+, we’re reimagining what spaces can become: places of stability, care, and long-term opportunity. Projects like this reflect a broader shift toward solutions that meet people where they are and support them in moving forward. We’re proud to be part of this work and grateful to the partners helping bring it to life. We’re very grateful to the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and Los Angeles County Development Authority, who co-sponsored our application and contributed operating and capital subsidy, and the team behind the larger St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus, our development partner on the project. Special thanks also to Laing Companies, who guided us throughout the application process.
