Workplace Charging: The Hidden Power of Your Parking Lot Here are some key highlights from our recent webinar on workplace charging and why office parking matters more than you think. 💡 Every day, employees park for 8–10 hours, and if those vehicles are electric, that’s prime charging time. Since employee commute can account for nearly 15–20% of an enterprise’s carbon footprint, workplace charging becomes one of the fastest ways to reduce emissions. Employees are already ready for EV adoption, they just need reliable charging at work. With the right planning, smart infrastructure, clear policies, and measurable reporting, parking spaces can become real sustainability assets. Bolt.Earth helps enterprises make workplace charging actually work. 25.9p That’s the average price to charge at work in the UK*. In my view, workplace charging is the unsung hero of charging. And for loads of very good reasons. 💷 Cheaper than charging at home at energy price cap (26.35p) 💷 Comparable to overnight home charging tariffs when taking the full cost of install into account 💷 Cheaper than kerbside and public AC charging 😊 A great employee incentive for both new staff and retention 👍 Supports EV adoption and company sustainability goals 🚙 Great for own fleet, visitors and supply chain to charge, and provides a return on investment ⚡️Over 11 million employees drive to work with a typical eight-hour dwell time enabling lower cost scalable charging infrastructure * Data from over 1/2 million paid workplace charging sessions on the Fuuse platform across over 1,000 UK companies. Hybrid working isn’t a passing phase – it’s the norm for many. And for organisations, the conversation has shifted from “how many days in the office?” to “how well does the office support the people in it?” This is where facilities management becomes essential. It’s not just about keeping the lights on – it’s about designing spaces that are intelligent, responsive and empowering. Tools like occupancy sensors, dynamic space planning and resource monitoring aren’t just operational upgrades – they’re catalysts for performance, wellbeing and choice. If organisations want people to spend time in the office, they need to earn that presence. That starts with infrastructure that supports flexibility, fosters collaboration and adapts to changing needs. The smarter the space, the smoother the transition – and the stronger the culture that follows. #HybridWorking #FutureOfWork #WorkplaceExperience #EmployeeExperience #FacilitiesManagement #SmartWorkplace

Don't end up in a walled garden! You know that feeling when a workplace tech decision made a few years ago starts to feel… a bit sticky? A lot of organisations chose resource booking systems that looked great at the time — but came with proprietary room panels or sensors that now make change expensive. Suddenly, you’re not just switching software… you’re rebuying the hardware too. The reality is, flexibility matters more than ever. Choosing platforms that play nicely with a variety of tech and offer that flexibility, means your tech works for you, not the other way around. Make sure you take a future fit approach. Because the only thing worse than paying twice — is realising you built your workplace around a walled garden. #Technology #Workplace #DigitalWorkplace #FacilitiesManagement #EmployeeExperience #SpicaTechnologies #Hubstar
