The EU is here to protect our critical IT systems in Europe that are under increasingly sophisticated attacks. Today, we proposed a new Cybersecurity Package to stop hackers from disrupting our hospitals, energy infrastructure, banks, transport & businesses. 💻 Stronger protection for ICT supply chains ⚙️ Easier for companies to follow 🚨 A bigger role for the EU’s Agency for Cybersecurity to spot and fight threats early A safer online Europe = a safer everyday life for all of us. Good to see that the EU is taking further measures to make IT attacks more difficult. This article has already been released in 2023, but in this context is still worth a read - Cybersecurity solutions made in Austria: https://bit.ly/4qEf5HQ
Indeed, generating suitable protection will require increasing facilities and understanding that will be bigger than most can support.
What stands out to me isn't just protection of critical IT. It's the shift in tone. Les fragmentation, less checkbox pressure, which leaves more room for real resilience. Because most incidents happen often when people are overloaded, rushed or unsure it is safe to speak up. Simplifying NIS2 creates space for better decisions when it matters most. This proposal moves us closer to addressing that reality.
Ist das implementiert und tut seinen Dienst oder sind es wie immer nur große Worte und für teures Geld tolle Plakate ohne jede Konsequenz und Nutzen? EU eben!
Strengthening cybersecurity shows that protecting critical systems is as much about resilience and coordination as it is about technology.
A crucial step toward protecting Europe’s critical infrastructure. Stronger cybersecurity and clearer rules are key to trust, resilience, and a safe digital economy.
"They will allow businesses to demonstrate compliance with EU legislation, reducing the burden and costs." **demonstrating compliance** is a HUGE pitfall in regulation compliance. So often overlooked, misunderstood, and a trap for unnecessary burden and complexity. So glad to see this is a founding point in this initiative.
