This year, 2026 COTE Leadership Group Chair Ellen Mitchell Kozack has been asking the question, what can we learn from rural voices? Does the practice of sustainability supported by COTE exclude the places and practitioners who don’t fit in that mold? Ellen has aimed to find out through a series of conversations with architects practicing in rural Texas, exploring how they navigate addressing sustainability in their projects.
