Also referred to as OB 25-Pit 1.
One of the satellite mines for BHP Billiton's Mount Whaleback operations. At 25 there is medium to high grade martite-goethite and high grade microplaty hematite occurring in the Joffre Member of the Brockman Iron Formation. It is truncated on the west margin by the east north-east Mount Whaleback Fault, and to the east by a north north-east fault. The mine also contains a processing plant for neighbouring mines.
