Within the Vert de Gris area, a 6-km2-large erosional window through Eocene limestone exposes a mineralized Late Cretaceous intrusive complex that has been dated at 67.3 ยฑ 4 Ma. The intrusive rocks include, from oldest to youngest, locally porphyritic hornblende-biotite tonalite, rhyodacite porphyry intrusions and intrusive breccias, and dikes of hornblende andesite porphyry.
