Sunday, 23 February

The Secretary-General will arrive in Geneva today, where he will take part in the opening of the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, which is scheduled to kick off on Monday morning. Later in the day, he is expected to address the high-level segment of the Conference on Disarmament.  

Monday, 24 February

Today, the Security Council is scheduled to hold a briefing on Ukraine.

At 10:00 a.m., in the General Assembly Hall, the 20th plenary meeting of the 11th emergency special session on Ukraine will be held. Watch live here.

At 10 a.m., the 27th Plenary session of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) will be held in Conference Room 5 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The session will continue until 28 February.

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV
 

Tuesday, 25 February

This morning, the Security Council is scheduled to hold a briefing in the Middle East followed by consultations.

At 10:00 a.m., in Conference Room 1, the Special Committee on the Charter (which is constituted of the entire membership of the Organization) will hold a general debate during its opening plenary meeting, in which delegations will consider the role of the Organization in the maintenance of international peace and security and in the peaceful settlement of disputes. At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV. This will be followed by a briefing by the Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly.    
 
The second resumed sessions of the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the 11th meeting of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, and the fifth meeting of the COP serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization will convene from 25-27 February 2025 in Rome, Italy.

In Geneva, the UN Information Service will hold its bi-weekly briefing for journalists.

Wednesday, 26 February

This morning, the Security Council is scheduled to hold a briefing on Sudan, followed by consultations. In the afternoon, it is scheduled to hold consultations on 1718 Committee.

Thursday, 27 February

This morning, the Security Council is scheduled to vote on a draft resolution on  2713 Committee. Afterwards, it is scheduled to hold a briefing in the afternoon on the United Nations peacekeeping operations: Police Commissioners

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV. 

At 1:30 p.m., an online Development Policy Seminar on Africa’s Trade Future: Regional Integration and Global Trends will be organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA).

Friday, 28 February
