Name:
Named in 2012 by P. Orlandi, C. Biagioni, M. Pasero and M. Mellini in honor of Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier (26 August 1743 – 8 May 1794), a French chemist and biologist. He is considered the 'father of modern chemistry'.
Related to sursassite and closely related to ardennite (= ardennite-(As) or ardennite-(V)). Also related to pumpellyite.
Complex multianion silicate-phosphate.
Lavoisierite represents a structural link between sursassite and ardennite.
