This year’s Covenant of Mayors Ceremony highlighted how cooperation between EU and local leaders is essential to protect Europeans from price shocks and climate risks.

Today, Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, Wopke Hoekstra brought together representatives of forest owners and the pulp and paper sector for a high-level policy dialogue on Europe’s forest-based value chains.

Tomorrow, hundreds of mayors, local and regional leaders and representatives from across Europe will come together in Brussels to participate in the EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony 2026.
