This week, we had the privilege of organizing the Natural Hazards Commission meeting here in Finland 🇫🇮. Our discussions focused on emerging natural hazard trends, the impacts of climate change, and innovative technologies and approaches in disaster risk reduction. Our Fire Safety Commission convened in Helsinki yesterday for an engaging and forward-focused session addressing the evolving landscape of fire protection across Europe. We made great progress on multiple fronts, advancing important guidelines on battery energy storage systems (BESS), hydrogen facilities, and Li-ion battery transport and storage. We also updated several existing guidelines covering offices, farm buildings, emergency power supply, and other key areas. As Europe's energy landscape evolves, so must our fire safety standards. News from the Security Commission We have enjoyed a productive time in Helsinki with great company from across Europe. We had an excellent walkthrough of ongoing roadmaps and projects, such as the Guideline for Secure and Remote Working and discussed plans for upcoming webinars.
