The Long Watch

This image is part of an ongoing personal series I'm working on.

Rather than documenting a specific moment or location, I'm interested in what these buildings represent - structures designed to stand alone, to face weather and time without movement.

The scene is intentionally constructed, allowing me to step away from geographic accuracy and focus on mood, symbolism, and emotional truth.

I have a few other of these in my portfolio if you are interested in seeing more. Now I need to get the rest of the North Carolina lighthouses and who knows, perhaps some non NC lighthouses as well.

Kyle, your project is coming along very nicely!

Kyle the lighthouse appears to be floating in the frame ? I don't know if its a proportion thing with the building size to the backdrop and/or the slight diagonal foreground line?

Beautiful clean black and white long exposure Kyle. I would love for you to join in conversation on my blog @ www.patrickcomtoisphotography.com

Congrats on the selection for PotD!
Well deserved, Kyle!
