🔴 After more than 15 months of war, people in #Gaza have been stripped of the most basic necessities: food, water, shelter, and education. More than 100 days after the ceasefire offered a critical opportunity to bridge crisis and recovery, the needs remain immense. Over 2 million people are still fully dependent on humanitarian assistance. As WFP’s new Country Director for Palestine, Shaun Hughes MBE underscores that early recovery is key so people can restore their livelihoods with dignity, rather than rely on aid.

Mozambique is reeling from its worst flooding in decades. The World Food Programme is mobilizing every asset we have – amphibious vehicles, boats, trucks, planes and helicopters – to deliver emergency food to families who have lost everything. Our teams urgently need funding to scale up and reach 450,000 people in dire need.

💡How does food assistance reach the people who need it most? By river. By rail. By air. By sea. Follow one bag of grain from a farm in Uganda to families in Bentiu refugee camp, South Sudan — traveling by riverboat along the White Nile, with teams working every step of the way to get it there. Every step is part of the story - WFP Supply Chain 💙

🔴 Floods are devastating communities across South Sudan, isolating families and destroying livelihoods. Through WFP’s Ripple Effect Project, made possible by the support of Postcode Loterij and its players, we’re helping families turn crisis into opportunity, strengthening food security and resilience. Together, we’re building canoes so families can navigate flooded waterways safely. We’re also transforming invasive water hyacinth into sustainable cooking fuel, providing families with an energy source and a new way to earn income. Hear from WFP's Ellie Failes about the Ripple Effect project 👇

In #Gaza, there is hope - but the food security situation remains fragile. WFP's Carl Skau explains why life-saving assistance must continue at scale — at the same time as supporting people's livelihoods, nutritious diets, and their path toward self-sufficiency. WFP is reaching over 1 million people a month with vital food and nutrition assistance. The road to recovery is long. WFP teams are committed to supporting the most vulnerable to ensure stability, dignity and hope.
