Combination potions are unlockable potion recipes that were released with the second batch of the Prifddinas updates on 10 November2014. There are 30 combination potions in total. All of them need to be unlocked by purchasing the recipe from the Recipe Shop in Meilyr Clan district, with prices from 100,000 coins to 1,500,000 coins, and nine have the additional requirement of finding unreadable pages in Daemonheim first, similar to unlocking a Fremennik Saga. Buying all recipes will cost the player a total of 15,200,000 coins.
There are no level requirements to purchase recipes. Thus, players can use Herblore boosts to make these combination potions.
There are three ways to obtain a potion recipe:
Finding a page on the ground after opening a dungeon door. At level 120 Dungeoneering, there is a 1/320 chance on normal floors and 1/107 chance on hard mode floors
To make a combination potion, players need a 4-dose vial of each component potion, as well as a crystal flask in their inventory. Using one potion on another will create a 6-dose flask of the combination potion.
Partially-used combination potions of the same type can be combined, by using one on the other. For example, you can combine a 1-dose potion with a 4-dose potion, to get a 5-dose potion. One of the crystal flasks will break in the process. NPCs that decant regular potions don't recognise these types of potions, but Teplin Macagan (near the Oo'glog bank) can decant them.
Combination potions benefit partially from portable wells; they can have their Herblore experience increased by 10%, but they cannot produce a second potion. The modified botanist's mask can produce extra potions however. Making combination potions in the Meilyr district when the Meilyr Voice of Seren is active will give a 20% experience increase. The effect of the perfect juju herblore potion provides a 5% experience increase.
