Ein Ausschuss ist berechtigt, eine Anhörung mit Sachverständigen zu veranstalten, wenn dies für seine Arbeit zu einem bestimmten Thema als unerlässlich erachtet wird. Anhörungen können auch von mehreren Ausschüssen gemeinsam abgehalten werden. Die meisten Ausschüsse organisieren regelmäßig Anhörungen, da sie es ihnen ermöglichen, sich zu wichtigen Themen von Sachverständigen beraten zu lassen und diese zu erörtern. On Thursday, 11 December 2025, the FEMM Committee and the Committee on Public Health organised a joint public hearing on Digital Violence and Women's Mental Health, with the involvement of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.

On 6 November, the SEDE Committee will hold, jointly with the FEMM Committee, a public hearing on the 25th Anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" as part of the EP Gender Equality week. This hearing will be an opportunity to take stock on the progress and challenges in the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
FEMM-EUDS exchange of views on Radical movements advocating against gender equality
In the framework of the European Parliaments’ Gender Equality Week 2025, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS) organised a joint exchange of views on 'Radical movements advocating against gender equality such as manosphere, causing interference with European democratic processes'. It took place on Wednesday, 5 November 2025 from 15 to 16 CET.
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the FEMM Committee held a hearing on "Women's Leadership in Politics".
On Tuesday, 4 November 2025, Vice-President in charge of Gender Equality Week Antonella Sberna organised, in cooperation with the FEMM Chair Lina Gálvez, a high-level event on the occasion of the Gender Equality Week 2025.
On 24 September (15.00-17.00) the DROI Subcommittee and the FEMM Committee organised a public hearing on ‘The EU strategy to promote and to protect human rights of women worldwide (notably in Afghanistan & Iran, with a focus on fighting gender apartheid)’. Representatives of the EU, the United Nations, the International Criminal Court and Amnesty International will participate in the exchange while human rights defenders and journalists will share their personal testimonies.
On 23 September 2025, the FEMM committee held an exchange of views, in association with the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula, on women escapees from North Korea.
