Uma comissão é autorizada a organizar uma audição de peritos se entender que a mesma é indispensável para o seu trabalho sobre uma determinada questão. As audições também podem ser realizadas conjuntamente por duas ou mais comissões. A maioria das comissões organiza audições com regularidade, uma vez que as mesmas lhes permitem ouvir a opinião de peritos e debater questões fulcrais. On 6 November, the SEDE Committee will hold, jointly with the FEMM Committee, a public hearing on the 25th Anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace and Security" as part of the EP Gender Equality week. This hearing will be an opportunity to take stock on the progress and challenges in the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
FEMM-EUDS exchange of views on Radical movements advocating against gender equality
In the framework of the European Parliaments’ Gender Equality Week 2025, the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) and the Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield (EUDS) are organising a joint exchange of views on 'Radical movements advocating against gender equality such as manosphere, causing interference with European democratic processes'. It will take place on Wednesday, 5 November 2025 from 15 to 16 CET.
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the FEMM Committee will hold a hearing on "Women's Leadership in Politics".
On Tuesday, 4 November 2025, Vice-President in charge of Gender Equality Week Antonella Sberna will organise in cooperation with the FEMM Chair Lina Gálvez a high-level event on the occasion of the Gender Equality Week 2025.
On 24 September (15.00-17.00) the DROI Subcommittee and the FEMM Committee are organising a public hearing on ‘The EU strategy to promote and to protect human rights of women worldwide (notably in Afghanistan & Iran, with a focus on fighting gender apartheid)’. Representatives of the EU, the United Nations, the International Criminal Court and Amnesty International will participate in the exchange while human rights defenders and journalists will share their personal testimonies.
On 23 September 2025, the FEMM committee held an exchange of views, in association with the Delegation for relations with the Korean Peninsula, on women escapees from North Korea.
On Thursday, 26 June 2025, the FEMM Committee held a public hearing on “Image based sexual violence in the context of AI and social media, specifically exploring the role of undressing apps and the responsibilities of platforms”.
On Wednesday, 25 June 2025, the FEMM Committee with the participation of the Committee on Agriculture held a public hearing on “Women’s entrepreneurship in rural and island areas and outermost regions”.
On Tuesday, 20 May 2025, the FEMM Committee with the participation of the Committee on Public Health held a public hearing on “Combatting Menstrual Poverty and Improving Women's Rights on Menstrual Health”
On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, the FEMM Committee jointly with the Committee on Public Health held a hearing on “Hearing on Chemical Submission: non-consensual administration of psychoactive substances“.
On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, the FEMM Committee held a hearing on “Social media and the consequences on young girls’ mental health”.
