Own Resources for the future: critical review & opportunities

The aim of the public hearing on "Own Resources for the future: critical review & opportunities" is to evaluate the expected impact of the proposed basket of new own resources (Commission proposal 2025/0574(CNS)) on the Union's financial autonomy and resilience, critically analyse potential adoption challenges and weaknesses, and assess alternative revenue sources as complementary or possible substitute options.
The invited speakers are:
- Ms Veronika Solilova, assoc. prof. Prague University of Economics and Business;
- Ms Margit Schratzenstaller, Senior Economist and Researcher at WIFO Operations;
- Mr Apostolos Thomadakis, Head of Research, ECMI and Research Fellow and Head of the Financial Markets and Institutions Unit, CEPS;
- Mr Julien Desiderio, Policy advisor at Oxfam Belgium.
Members of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and of the Committee on Environment, Climate and Food Safety are invited to enhance the discussion with their contributions.
