AFCO Public Hearing - July 15

The Committee on Constitutional Affairs will hold the presentation of the draft report and a public hearing on "The Institutional Framework of the European Union and its interaction with national authorities in the application of Union law, with particular reference to Article 19 TEU" on 15 July. The draft report examines how Union law is implemented through cooperation between the Union institutions and national authorities, with particular reference to Article 19 TEU. It also calls for a more transparent and objective Court of Justice and stresses the importance of maintaining an appropriate balance between the effectiveness of Union law and respect for national constitutional identities. The presentation will be followed by a public hearing with the panel of invited experts comprised Dame Eleanor Sharpston, former Advocate General, Professor Huber, former Judge of the German Federal Constitutional Court and Professor Rossi, former Judge at the Court of Justice.
