The aim of the public hearing on "Own Resources for the future: critical review & opportunities" is to evaluate the expected impact of the proposed basket of new own resources (Commission proposal 2025/0574(CNS)) on the Union's financial autonomy and resilience, critically analyse potential adoption challenges and weaknesses, and assess alternative revenue sources as complementary or possible substitute options.
The public hearing on "Management and Preparedness for Extreme Weather Events and Natural Disasters in the EU Budget" will examine the effects of the rising frequency and severity of natural disasters on the current EU budget, as well as on the planning and implementation of the EU's long term budget.
