Komandējumi

Komiteja var pieņemt lēmumu doties komandējumos uz kādu dalībvalsti, ārpussavienības valsti vai starptautiskām konferencēm. Komandējumi tiek organizēti, īstenojot komitejai piešķirtās pilnvaras, un tajos dodas ierobežots skaits komitejas locekļu. Komitejas var arī nosūtīt delegāciju trīs locekļu sastāvā uz aģentūrām, kuras ir to pamata kompetenču jomā. Šāda komandējuma ilgums nedrīkst pārsniegt trīs dienas. A delegation of the TRAN Committee visited South Korea in October 2025 to explore innovative technologies that can help address current challenges in the transport sector, with a particular focus on autonomous driving technologies.

From 27 to 29 October 2025, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a fact-finding visit to Madeira (Portugal) following Petition No 1486/2024 on the unavailability of affordable housing in Madeira and Petition No 970/2024 on activating the EU Civil Protection Mechanism for Madeira wildfires.

Mission to Washington, DC and New York

Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Washington, D.C. and New York between 27 and 29 October. The delegation, led by the Chair Pasquale Tridico, will meet with representatives of key institutions, such as the Council of Economic Advisors, the US Department of the Treasury, Congress, and the United Nations, as well as with stakeholders from the private sector, experts and civil society.

MEPs from the Development (DEVE) and Human Rights (DROI) committees, led by Chair of the DEVE Committee Barry Andrews, were on a mission to Haut Katanga province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to gather first-hand information on the EU's approach to development in a fragile context, in particular the implementation of EU-funded sustainable development and Global Gateway projects.

From 26 to 30 October 2025, five DEVE Committee Members, led by MEP Lucas Mandl (EPP, AT), visited Pakistan to evaluate EU-backed development, reconstruction, and disaster preparedness efforts in response to recurring climate-related disasters, including the catastrophic floods of 2022. Discussions also focused on women’s rights, private sector growth, and Pakistan’s compliance with human rights and governance standards under the EU’s GSP+ tariff-free trade regime.

During its mission to Washington D.C., in the context of the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), the ECON Delegation met with key representatives from the IMF as well as with Congressmen and representatives of the US authorities, leading think tanks, businesses and trade unions. The discussion focused on the global economic and fiscal outlook and financial policy developments.

From 12 to 14 October, Committee on Public Health held a mission to Berlin, Germany. The delegation was composed of four Members: Adam JARUBAS (EPP), Nikos PAPANDREOU (S&D), Aurelijus VERYGA (ECR) and Stine BOSSE (Renew).

In September 2025, a delegation of six Members of the European Parliament from the TRAN Committee, representing five different political groups, participated as observers in the 42nd General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal to support the EU’s aviation priorities at the global level.

ITRE mission to Sweden, 16-19.09.2025

The ITRE mission to Sweden explored several key areas of the committee’s work: mining, space, steel, hydrogen and batteries productions. A delegation of six Members, led by MEP Christophe Grudler, visited Esrange Space Center, where the rocket prototype Themis was displayed. Further visits included the world's largest underground iron ore mine in Kiruna, LKAB’s fossil-free steel manufacturing plant in Lulea, Stegra’s site for green hydrogen and iron and Talga’s advanced materials production.
