From 16 to 18 February 2026, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a Fact-finding visit (FFV) to Comarca del Campo Arañuelo on the closure of a nuclear power plant in Almaraz and to the Cabañeros National Park (Spain)

From 26 to 28 May 2026, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a Fact-Finding Visit (FFV) to Saint Martin and Guadeloupe on recurring sargassum influxes and the “octroi de mer” dock dues system in the French outermost regions.

From 27 to 29 October 2025, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a fact-finding visit to Madeira (Portugal) following Petition No 1486/2024 on the unavailability of affordable housing in Madeira and Petition No 970/2024 on activating the EU Civil Protection Mechanism for Madeira wildfires.

From 15 to 17 September 2025, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a fact-finding visit to the Canary Islands (Spain) following a petition on the need for joint action by the European Union on migration.

From 14 to 16 April 2025, Members of the Committee on Petitions carried out a fact-finding visit to Austria following several petitions on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and the challenges related to wolf population management. During the three-day visit, they engaged with affected citizens, policymakers and stakeholders to assess the impact of the EUDR and to examine the implications of wolf population management for farming.

On 14 November 2024, the Coordinators of the Committee on Petitions decided to undertake a fact-finding visit (FFV) to Spain (Algeciras and Barbate) with the aim of investigating petition No 1407/2023 on labour rights of police officers in the EU.
