“Made in … where?” What do origin labels and “Made in EU” claims really tell us? And do current EU rules ensure sufficient transparency for consumers and fair competition for European producers? Footwear, strollers, honey... Across different sectors, questions rise regarding the use and understanding of origin-related claims. Products made partly or fully outside the EU are sometimes marked “Made in EU”, “European” or “designed in Europe”, creating misleading information and unfair competition.
Building on Petition 0604/2025, the workshop, organised by the Policy Department for Citizens, Equality and Culture for the Committee on Petitions, examined how to design, fund and maintain preventive measures to reduce depredation and conflict in areas with large carnivores, drawing on Commission guidance, LIFE projects, research and Member State practice.
