43rd EU - Canada interparliamentary meeting - 27 - 28 October 2025
The 43rd EU-Canada Interparliamentary Meeting (IPM) took place in Ottawa on 27-28 October 2025. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and the Canadian Parliament discussed key issues in EU-Canada relations, including trade, energy, security and defence cooperation, and the responsible governance of artificial intelligence. A joint statement was signed at the end of the IPM reaffirming the strong will to enhance the EU-Canada partnership.
As is customary when the Delegation for relations with Canada (D-CA) visits, the programme also included a provincial component. This year, following the meeting in Ottawa, Members spent a day in Halifax, Nova Scotia, visiting the province's maritime hubs and holding discussions with the Honourable Barbara Adams, Nova Scotia Deputy Premier and the Honourable Danielle Barkhouse, Speaker of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly.
