On 27 January, from 16:30 to 17:30, the study on the future of EU tax policy harmonisation will be presented in the FISC Subcommittee meeting. The purpose of the study is to analyse how fragmented tax rules in the EU could create economic and administrative costs, i.e. the cost of non-Europe, in taxation.

The analysis focuses on wealth taxation, cryptoassets taxation, digitalisation of tax administration and tax compliance burdens. Experts who authored the study will present their findings, showing that the cost of non-Europe is consistent in these four fields of taxation. They will lay out their recommendations for more targeted EU-level coordination, which could raise revenue, reduce compliance and enforcement costs, and support a more integrated internal market.
