The relevance of the Technical Support Instrument (TSI) for reforms in 2024
In order to help national authorities improve their capacity to implement reforms, the European Parliament and the Council adopted a regulation in 2021 that established the Technical Support Instrument (TSI). This note outlines the TSI’s key features, procedures, and reporting requirements, and takes a critical look at the latest TSI Annual Report for 2024, focussing in particular on what it says about support for reforms set out in national Recovery and Resilience Plans.

On 24 September 2025, the Committee on Culture and Education had the honuor of hosting the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Washington, D.C. and New York between 27 and 29 October. The delegation, led by the Chair Pasquale Tridico, will meet with representatives of key institutions, such as the Council of Economic Advisors, the US Department of the Treasury, Congress, and the United Nations, as well as with stakeholders from the private sector, experts and civil society.

From 27 to 29 October 2025 Members of the Committee on Petitions will carry out a fact-finding visit in Madeira (Portugal) following petitions No 1486/2024 on the unavailability of affordable housing in Madeira and No 970/2024 on activating the EU Civil Protection Mechanism for Madeira Wildfires.
