This study assesses GAP III implementation and identifies lessons for GAP IV after 2027. It finds on the one hand GAP III strengthened EU gender mainstreaming through targets, gender analysis, Country-Level Implementation Plans, political dialogue and institutional routines, but on the other hand links to financing, responsibilities, results and accountability remain uneven. To poglavje kratkega vodnika pojasnjuje razvoj politik EU za boj proti revščini, socialni izključenosti in diskriminaciji. Konec devetdesetih let prejšnjega stoletja je bil boj proti socialni izključenosti kot cilj politike zapisan v Pogodbah, EU pa je dobila močnejša orodja za boj proti diskriminaciji. Od takrat so bili sprejeti ključni ukrepi, kot so določitev ciljev za zmanjšanje revščine in strategij za njihovo doseganje ter sprejetje protidiskriminacijske zakonodaje.
