Forests are among the most invaluable natural assets on Earth, regulating the global climate, supporting biodiversity and hydrology, conserving soil, and sustaining people’s livelihoods. In the current era of climate change, amid biological invasions, habitat degradation, deforestation, and accelerating anthropogenic pressures, attention is being paid to understanding forest ecosystems more critically than ever. The present title provides comprehensive insights into the principles of forest science and their application to sustainable ecosystem management. The book integrates classical forestry concepts with contemporary advances in ecology, conservation biology, climate resilience, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable forest management. It emphasizes evidence-based approaches that balance ecological integrity, economic development, and social well-being. By connecting scientific understanding with practical management, this book aims to inspire responsible stewardship of forest resources and promote resilient ecosystems for future generations.
Key Features:
• To showcase the inclusive coverage of forest science and ecosystem sustainability principles.
• Integrates ecology, biodiversity conservation, climate change, and sustainable forest management.
• Contemporary perspectives on ecosystem restoration and nature-based solutions.
• Real-world case studies demonstrating the practical application of forest science principles.
This compilation serves as a valuable resource for ecologists, foresters, botanists, environmentalists, researchers, educators, and students seeking deeper insight into the scientific understanding of the practical management of forest resources. Further, it aims to inspire responsible stewardship of forest resources and promote resilient ecosystems for future generations.
