🧰 Advocacy Toolkit for University-Based Publishers The University-Based Publishing Futures community has just released an Advocacy Toolkit for University-Based Publishing.  The toolkit is the outcome of a working group which included DOAJ Community Manager and Ambassador for Latin America Ivonne Lujano. 🧰 This advocacy toolkit is designed as scaffolding for libraries and university presses to develop arguments at their local institutions. There's something that happens when a distributed team finally occupies the same room. Something that no amount of good collaboration tools quite replicates. Earlier this month that room was in Istanbul — at the beautiful Anamed Library, hosted by Koç University on İstiklal Caddesi. Three days with my DOAJ colleagues: strategy, workshops, honest conversations, and the slower moments in between that turn colleagues into something more like a team you actually know. Istanbul felt like the right city for it. A place where geography has always been beside the point. Grateful for the trip, the hosts, and the people. 🔴🕌

DOAJ was pleased to be involved in the International Overseeing Committee for this year’s 3rd Global Summit on Diamond Open Access in Bengaluru, India. The release of the Bengaluru Roadmap and Action Plan on Diamond Open Access reflects the deliberations of participants from 36 countries and sets out a shared global framework for transitioning scholarly communication toward a model that is free for authors and readers, community-governed, and grounded in the principle that scientific knowledge is a public good.
