"United Nations Special Political Missions 1945-2025: An Overview" is the first-ever comprehensive public record of all UN special political missions since the Organization's founding. From the very first mission established in 1948 to mediate the truce in Palestine, to the 167 missions deployed across eight decades, the publication traces how these instruments of diplomacy have evolved in response to shifting geopolitical realities. Presented by USG for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo in June this year, the publication is also a call to reflection.
