Frequently Asked Questions
General
Q: What is Thinkyhead? A: Thinkyhead is a software dojo — Scott Lahteine’s one-person shop creating music software, drivers, utilities, and web applications.
Q: Where can I find the source code? A: Most open source projects are on GitHub.
Q: How can I support Thinkyhead? A: Donate to Marlin Firmware, register FretPet, or contribute to TabletMagic.
Software - FretPet
Q: Does FretPet run on modern macOS? A: No. The last version of Mac OS X that can run FretPet is 10.14.6 Mojave. I’m working on an update so stay tuned!
Q: Does FretPet run on older macOS? A: The latest version of FretPet X requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or newer and runs on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. Previous versions of FretPet support older versions of Mac OS X and Mac OS all the way back to Mac OS 7.6.
Software - TabletMagic
Q: Does TabletMagic support Apple Silicon? A: Last I checked TabletMagic 2.0b20 still builds and loads. But Apple Silicon compatibility has not been verified because there is no compatible Serial to USB adapter. I’m working on building a serial adapter with a small SBC (Arduino or similar) for a direct serial connection, and a USB HID driver for tablet emulation.
Software - ChordCalc
Q: Is ChordCalc still available? A: No. ChordCalc and ChordCalc Lite are not currently available on the App Store. It is possible these will be resurrected.
Marlin
Q: How do I report a Marlin bug? A: File an issue on the Marlin GitHub repository or visit the Marlin Discord.
Q: How do I donate to Marlin? A: See the Donate page for all options.
