Roadcut along Rv 5 (Naustdalsvegen, between Førde and Naustdal), about 200 m NW of Kvineset.

According to Krogh (1980), there are several small eclogite lenses along the road between Førde and Naustdal. He describes two of these bodies in more detail. One eclogite is a partly retrograded 5-6m thick (Lens 1), and the other is a larger body, ca 15m across (Lens 2). Lens two is zoned with a 10m thick core zone and a 2-3m wide unaltered "glaucophane" bearing zone. He also describe a small amphibolite body (1.5 x 4m) that represent a retrograded eclogite

The amphiboles in these bodies were considered "glaucophane" and "barroisitic" by Krogh. Re-calculating his analyses in accordance with the 2012 IMA amphibole nomenclature show that the amphiboles corresponds to glaucophane-, winchite-, katophorite-, barroisite-, taramite and pargasite root name group minerals.

A more detailed study of these amphiboles combining EPMA and Mössbauer spectroscopy will undoubtedly yield interesting results.
