Missions abroad are responsible for issuing visas to non-EU citizens admitted to Hungary and for assessing applications for visas not exceeding three months (including seasonal working visa).

In September 2013 the Government, with its decision 1698/2013, adopted the Migration Strategy, upon which it based the seven-year-long strategic plan document related to the Asylum and Migration Fund of the European Union for the period 2014-2020.

The activities carried out within the framework of the Hungarian National Contact Point of the European Migration Network is resulting in the preparation of more relevant reports and studies in the field of immigration and integration.

European Migration Network Hungary works under the Deputy State Secretary for EU and International Relations of the Ministry of Interior.
