A masterwork bow is an augmentable tier 99 bow with tier 100 stats that requires level 99 Ranged to wield. It can be created with level 110 Fletching, 110 Woodcutting, 99 Smithing, 90 Crafting, 90 Runecrafting, and 90 Magic through a lengthy process that requires a large quantity of resources and the completion of the Fletch Quest achievement, which involves upgrading an eternal magic shortbow and both primal crossbows to their Mk. 5 versions.

The creation of a masterwork bow includes approximately 3.5 hours of processing untradeable materials without Smithing and 68,100 Smithing progress.

Passive effect

[edit | edit source]

Masterworked Mending is the passive effect of the masterwork 2h sword, masterwork bow, and masterwork staff.

The player is healed by 2% of the damage dealt with these masterwork weapons. This applies to both basic attacks and abilities, and includes damage over time (bleeds and burns).

If the weapons are unequipped after using a bleed or burn, the remaining hits will continue to heal the player. The amount of life points healed is not capped. If a hit exceeds the 30,000 cap, the amount healed will be calculated from the damage the player would have dealt before the hitcap lowers it down to 30,000.

When tillering the untillered bow, a total of 160 points of progress are required to turn it into a finished masterwork bow. A point of progress is given every 6 ticks (3.6 seconds), yielding 1 Fletching experience at a time. The whole process thus takes approximately 9.5 minutes and yields 160 Fletching experience.

Repair cost

[edit | edit source]

This item costs at most 800,000 coins to repair completely. The repair cost is calculated by the degradation percentage rounded down (e.g. with 75.5% charge remaining, a full repair would only cost 200,000 coins). It may be repaired through a variety of methods.

Non-player characters

[edit source]

These methods cost more as they do not consider the player's Smithing level for a repair discount.

Improved methods

[edit source]

These methods provide a repair cost discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts):

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • An archery bow is tillered to adjust the upper and lower limbs of the bow, ensuring they bend evenly. This results in a smooth and quiet release. A properly tillered bow affects the arrow flight.
