Aiming to simplify EU rules, and as announced in its “Vision for Agriculture and Food”, the Commission proposed a legislative package on Food and Feed Simplification in December 2025.This Omnibus proposes to amend 14 Regulations and Directives in two Commission proposals. The purpose of this joint hearing is to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to reflect the wide-ranging scope of the omnibus and to ensure a balanced exchange on the topics, presenting the scientific perspective and practitioners’ views on implementation. Presentations by six experts will be followed by Q&A sessions with Members of the European Parliament, remarks by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the Commission and concluding remarks by the Chairs.
