From 1855 to 1857, the Lower Černojamská vein was opened by several shallow shafts, and after finding rich deposits in the shaft at Poncov dvor, a third vertical pit was established in the second zone of Algonquian shales.

The pit was stoped on October 20, 1857, and named after the chief court administrator Alois Lill of Lillenbach - Lill. The Lill pit was gradually excavated to a depth of 432 m to the 18th floor. As was expected at Drkoln's great ore wealth, this was assumed at the Lill mine. A total of 16 veins were found in this mine, some of which contained radioactive minerals. 9,000 m of follow-up work at this mine was carried out, and 3,700 m of <>trenches were dug. The mine was not connected to the Dědičná gallery, but the pit was connected to the Jarošovka pit on the 5th floor. At the same time, the terrain east of the pit up to a distance of 963 m from Lilka was examined. In 1902, mining was definitively stopped here. Nevertheless, some sections of the Lill mine were quite rich in silver. The most silver was mined at the Lill mine between 1894 and 1896 – a total of 2,176 kg.

There is also a story circulating in Příbram that the element radium was discovered from Příbram's radioactive ores – from the Lill mine. At the request of the upper administration of the Jáchymov mines, the Lilac pitch was sent to Maria Curie Sklodowska in Paris. The narrative cannot be substantiated by archival materials.
