The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Second Vice-President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. They discussed internal developments as well as regional issues.

The Secretary-General congratulated Equatorial Guinea on assuming the chairmanship of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) and encouraged it to continue working towards greater regional integration.

The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to continue to support the efforts of Equatorial Guinea and Gabon towards the peaceful settlement of their border dispute.
