Pyrefiends are Slayer monsters that require level 30 Slayer to kill. They are the weaker elemental cousin of the waterfiend , but are stronger than most icefiends , except the ones at Ghorrock Fortress . They have similar drops to those of lesser demons and harpie bug swarms , and are notable for their relatively high drop rate for medium clue scrolls .
Pyrefiends have high accuracy compared to many other monsters with a similar combat level. Pyrefiends are weak to bolts and to abilities and perks that affect demons . Dwarf multicannons can be used to fight pyrefiends in the Smoke Dungeon but not in the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon .
The following drop rates are provided by Jagex, unless otherwise specified.
The average Pyrefiend kill is worth 2,827 coins .
^ Rolls separately, first.
There is a 2/128 chance of rolling the gem drop table .

^ Hazelmere's signet ring requires tier 4 luck .
^ Only dropped if fewer than five ancient effigies are owned. The drop rate is decreased for every effigy owned, up to four effigies.
The quantity of charms dropped can be affected by a number of boosts including Familiarisation triple charm drops, Fang of Mohegan , and seasonal events such as Winter Weekends .

The pyrefiends in the Soul Wars tutorial have a life point and are weak to crush. Nomad doesn't let players attack these though.
Pyrefiends used to have significant stalling on their combat animations, causing them to appear in a different tile from where they actually were. This was reduced with their graphical update in 2014.
