Siphons are one-handed Necromancy weapons that are used to cast Necromancy abilities. They are wielded in the main hand slot and have an attack rate of 1.8 seconds (3 ticks), which makes them the fastest weapons in RuneScape.

There are no off-hand siphons: this role is fulfilled by conduits. A siphon and a conduit can be used to dual-wield as a necromancer. Necromancy weapons have an attack range of 6 squares.

Siphons are used to harness necrotic energy while protecting the wielder from the harmful effects of said energy,[1] hence why all siphons are referred to as "guards".
