Storage

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

This is a list of storage methods available in the game. This list generally excludes reclaim-based or charge-based systems as they would greatly inflate the size of the list, but several exceptions (such as Diango) have been made for systems that are intuitively regarded as storage by most players. Systems that perform passive processing are also not included.

If not otherwise stated, the maximum capacity for each item should be assumed to be equal to the max stack (2,147,483,647).

Core systems

[edit | edit source]
Icon Storage Items stored Additional notes
Backpack 28 items or item stacks Stackable items take up one inventory slot regardless of quantity (up to the max stack), while non-stackable items each take up an individual slot. Many non-stackable items can be converted to bank notes to allow them to be stacked in exchange for losing the item's functionality.
Bank 140 to 1,820 different items The amount of bank space a player has depends on factors such as their membership status and purchased bank boosters. See the Bank page for the full details.
Unlike in the backpack, non-stackable items only take one slot per unique item. Items that have individual data such as augmented items, gizmos, and unfinished smithing items will still take one slot each.
Money pouch Up to 2,147,483,649,147,483,647 (2.1 quintillion) coins The maximum capacity is equal to one billion and one max stacks.
Currency pouch Various currencies Each currency has a dedicated slot and the maximum capacity varies based on the specific currency. Most currencies are directly added to and used from the pouch and cannot be withdrawn.
Tool belt Certain items The tool belt comes with an array of items already added, but some will need to be added manually by the player. Items cannot be removed from the tool belt with the exception of hatchets, pickaxes, and mattocks.

The following storage systems can also be added to the tool belt:

Overflow storage 50 items If the player dies, then dies a second time without reclaiming their saved items, the unclaimed items from the earlier death will be moved to the overflow storage. This also applies to subsequent deaths. If the overflow storage exceeds 50 items, any extra items will be permanently lost.

Beasts of Burden

[edit | edit source]

Beasts of Burden are Summoning familiars that can hold items for the player, effectively extending the size of the player's inventory. These familiars can generally hold most tradable items up to a total value of 15,000,000 coins. Several untradable items such as stone spirits can also be stored. Essences and divine memories can only be stored by specialised Beasts of Burden.

Item form

[edit | edit source]

The game includes many items that can be used to store other items. Due to the large number of items in this category, the list can be found on the storage items page.

Interactable scenery

[edit | edit source]

The following storage methods involve objects that are interacted with.

Player-owned house

[edit | edit source]

The player-owned house contains several constructible furniture objects that provide storage functions, in most cases for collectible items. Each piece of furniture has multiple tiers, which affects the variety or quantity of items that can be stored in it. See the respective pages or Costume room/List for the full details.

Players can access their costume room storage (treasure chest to costume box in the list below) directly from their bank.

Resource storage

[edit | edit source]

The following scenery objects can be used to store resources for convenient withdrawal or deposit by the player. If a listed storage object shows multiple locations, it should be assumed that they are multiple access points for the same shared inventory unless stated otherwise. Most of these allow noted items to be stored as well.
