Workshop on Exploring the Feasibility of a European Senior/Pensioner Card
On 19 January 2026, the Members of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Members of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs held a joint exchange of views with the Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath on the Justice programme for the period 2028-2034.

The AGRI Committee of the European Parliament is organizing a public hearing on the “Overview of the EU livestock sector and the EU approach to control animal diseases”, which will take place on 12 January 2026 (15.00-16.30).
In recent years, attacks on humanitarian workers have increased sharply, with growing numbers of them killed, injured, detained or kidnapped while carrying out life-saving work. Local aid workers are particularly at risk and protecting them is essential to uphold international humanitarian principles and ensure safe and efficient access to people in need.
On 11 December 2025, from 10:30 to 12:30, the FISC Subcommittee hosted a public hearing on “Taxation of Ultra-high-net-worth individuals”.
Hearings
Under Rule 193 of the Rules of Procedure, a committee is permitted to organise a hearing with experts, where this is considered essential to its work on a particular subject. Hearings can also be held jointly by two or more committees. Most committees organise regular hearings, as they allow them to hear from experts and hold discussions on the key issues.
