International cooperation

Eurostat is actively participating in international developments in the field of quality.
Examples of such cooperation include:

• the setting up of the National Quality Assurance Framework with the UNSD
• involvement in the UN expert group on the national quality assurance frameworks
• work on projects to set up and improve quality frameworks and quality assurance in countries outside of the EU
• the promotion of ESS quality standards to countries outside the EU
• participation in international workshops
• seminars on quality.

Another aspect of international work is the benchmarking and comparison of ESS quality standards with other international quality frameworks:

• Comparison of the UN principles governing international statistical activities and the European Code of Practice
• Comparison of the IMF’s Data Quality Assessment Framework (DQAF) and European Statistical System Quality Approaches - An Update
