🌐 At the World Economic Forum in Davos, I had a series of insightful discussions and meetings with business and political leaders on the challenges shaping our global economy and geopolitics. Strengthening our alliances – and building new partnerships – is essential. At the same time, in a rapidly changing and more challenging global landscape, the 🇪🇺 EU must adapt. We need to stay united and pursue reforms with determination to become stronger. In 2026, we must build on the European Commission’s work so far: boosting competitiveness and defence capabilities, cutting administrative burdens, and strengthening trade with trusted partners. Reflections on artificial intelligence took centre stage this year. At the panel discussion “Preventing Jobless Growth”, I underlined that Europe is taking the necessary steps, including investing in skills, to harness AI’s potential for productivity and growth. ❗ I also emphasised that damaging 🇺🇸 transatlantic relations would be a lose-lose scenario. De-escalation regarding #Greenland is therefore very welcome. NATO should remain focused on the real threat: Russia and its war of aggression against #Ukraine.
